Q Malewezi, Lulu, Menes, Tron, Neil Nayar perform at Lake of Stars Pre-Festival show!

This year’s Lake of Stars Festival will kick off with a little bit of something for everybody. As we are getting ready for the Lake of Stars Festival which will take place from the 25th to 27th September, 2015 in Mangochi, the organizers of the top-rated festival hosted a launch party of the festival on the roof terrace of Peermont President Walmont Hotel (next BICC).

The party was spiced up by performances Q Malewezi who recited a very touching and brilliant piece, an artistic and exquisite dance by Tron and acoustic performances Lulu, Menes and Neil Nayar. Rapper Tay Grin, singer George Kalukusha and the Norwegian Ambassador to Malawi, Mr. Kikkan Haugen were also in attendance and among some of the notable faces at the event.

Lake of Stars has been the premier event in Malawi since its inauguration in 2004 which has helped to promote local talents and art, and it is also a major boost to the tourism industry.

The festival comprises of good music, live performances, dances, art exhibits just to mention a few. The past events have seen performances by both international and local acts including The Very Best, Tay Grin, Sauti Soul, Mafikizolo, Afrikan Boy, Foals, Freshlyground, Home Grown African, Gwamba, Fly, Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi, Zone Fam, among many others.

Some of the acts that have been confirmed so far for this year’s festival include: Young Fathers (UK), Ric Hassani (Nigeria), Gwamba (Malawi), Danny Kalima (Malawi), George Kalukusha (Malawi) and Menes (DRC).
